Tottenham Hotspur forward Jermain Defoe has praised the recent performances of teammate Aaron Lennon.

The pair linked up to devastating effect on Thursday night, as Defoe notched his 13th club goal of the season during Spurs' 3-1 win over Panathinaikos.

"Azza set me up again." Defoe told the club's official website. "I said to him that he seems to have set me up every single goal. He's been brilliant.

"We have a real understanding now when he drives inside, he doesn't even look. I made the run [for the third goal] and he played me in. He's been unbelievable, not just for me, but for the team.

"His workrate has been fantastic. He's set up a lot of my goals and sometimes I'm thinking 'just shoot', but he always looks for me. It's great to play with someone like that."

Lennon and Sandro are the only two players that have started every Premier League game for Spurs this season.
