Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly step up their interest in Stuttgart striker Timo Werner as they prepare to add a new forward before the beginning of the Premier League season on August 8.
According to ESPN, Spurs plan to sign the 19-year-old striker ahead of other interested clubs including Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.
The Stuttgart-born forward is said to have been on Tottenham's radar for some time and the club are planning a bid imminently.
Werner scored 24 goals for Stuttgart's Under-19 side in 2012-13, and became the first team's youngest player the following season, scoring seven goals in 48 appearances in the Bundesliga.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to be looking to add to his striking options, as Aston Villa are reported to be close to signing Emmanuel Adebayor while Roberto Soldado is also being linked with a move away from White Hart Lane.
