Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that there is a "danger" of Jonathan Walters leaving the club at the end of the season.
The Republic of Ireland international, who will be a free agent in the summer, has struggled to come to an agreement with the Potters over a new deal.
Walters has publicly expressed a desire to stay at the Britannia, but talks broke down between the two parties in the summer.
"There is a danger that we could lose Jon, but that isn't what I want and it isn't what he wants," Hughes said in a press conference this afternoon.
"There is scope to sit back down, I would have thought. Jon is capable of making an impact as he is right now. We would love to come to a satisfactory conclusion."
Walters has scored four goals in all competitions so far this season.
