Joleon Lescott: 'We'd welcome new signings'

West Bromwich Albion defender Joleon Lescott says that the club's players would be happy to see new signings arrive at the club.

West Bromwich Albion defender Joleon Lescott has admitted that signings on transfer deadline day would give the dressing room a boost.

The Baggies are expected to be busy before the transfer window closes this evening, as new head coach Tony Pulis finalises his squad at The Hawthorns.

Callum McManaman made his debut in the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, and Lescott says that he would be happy to see more new faces arrive at the club.

"Of course we would welcome it," Lescott told the Birmingham Mail. "Any group of players in the world wants to improve their team and their squad and I'm sure there will be players coming in like Callum.

"He did well and he's been ill for a couple of days and still showed his qualities. When he gets on the ball he is brave on it and runs with it and he can enhance the team.

"I am sure the manager isn't looking for players to be in the squad, I'm sure he wants players to be in the team and improve us."

West Brom have been linked with West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
