Kevin Nolan defends West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce

West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan believes that Sam Allardyce is the right man to manage the club.

West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan has insisted that Sam Allardyce is the right man to manage the club, following speculation that he could lose his job.

Allardyce's side have been criticised over their style of play this season, with some of the club's supporters booing the team following their 2-1 win over Hull City at the end of March.

Nolan believes that the 59-year-old has been harshly treated by the critics.

"At the end of the day he deserves more respect than he has received," Nolan told Sky Sports News. "I'm disappointed there is all this talk, but that's the life of a football manager.

"It's crazy, but that's the world of football these days. He's got a thick skin and he's got a meeting with the chairman this week to discuss where we go in the future.

"All the lads are hoping it's only paper talk and that we can look forward to another season in the Premier League."

West Ham finished the Premier League season in 13th place.
