Report: Dimitri Payet to sign one-year West Ham United extension

French playmaker Dimitri Payet will reportedly sign a new five-and-a-half year contract with West Ham United on Thursday night.

West Ham United have reportedly agreed a new five-and-a-half year contract with star playmaker Dimitri Payet.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic confirmed earlier today that the Frenchman was "very close" to agreeing an extension in East London.

The 28-year-old will tonight finalise details of the new contract which, according to Sky Sports News, will be a one-year extension that runs until the end of the 2020-21 season.

It had been reported earlier this week that an unnamed Chinese club was lining up a £38m move for Payet, who has impressed in his debut Premier League season with six goals and four assists in 18 appearances.
