Joel Robles has revealed that he was delighted to have kept a clean sheet on his Wigan Athletic debut yesterday afternoon.
Despite having only recently arrived in England, Robles was selected to keep goal during yesterday's 1-0 FA Cup victory over Macclesfield Town.
However, rather than taking the sole credit, the Spaniard has insisted that his new teammates deserve some praise for helping to keep their hosts out.
"It is fantastic to get a clean sheet on my debut but I have to emphasise that it is down to everyone in the team that it happened," he told the club's official website. "From the first whistle I felt comfortable in the team because my teammates made me feel part of the team.
"They performed really well in front of me and the defence made sure that Macclesfield couldn't get too many shots on goal."
The 22-year-old joined the Premier League side on a six-month loan basis from Atletico Madrid earlier this month.
