Leicester Tigers coach Richard Cockerill eager for Gonzalo Camacho chance

Richard Cockerill reveals that Argentine wing Gonzalo Camacho will be given the chance to prove himself at Leicester Tigers this season.

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill has revealed that wing Gonzalo Camacho will be given the chance to prove himself this season.

The 30-year-old joined the club two years ago, but he has not yet played for the Tigers due to a shoulder injury.

Camacho returned to action for Argentina last month after undergoing surgery three separate times, and Cockerill is eager for him to make his mark at Welford Road.

"We have come this far with him and has started to play again. It would be nice to see him play in a Tigers shirt," he told BBC Sport.

"It has been a really tough time for him. He is a really good guy and he's been really hard working. We want to see if we can make it work and I am pretty sure we can. He will be back this week, he will train with us and I look forward to getting him in a Tigers shirt."

Camacho has previously played for Harlequins and Exeter Chiefs.
