John Isner has booked his place in the quarter-finals at Indian Wells with a straight-sets victory over Australia's Matthew Ebden.

It took until the fifth game of the first set for Isner to break serve and gain the advantage. The American then managed to keep his opponent at bay to take the set 6-4.

Both players gave little away in the second as it appeared to be heading towards a tie break.

However, Isner grabbed a vital break in the 11th game to serve out the match 7-5.
