British number three Johanna Konta has reached the second round of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham with a straight-sets victory over Japan's Kurumi Nara.
Konta broke her opponent's serve all four times to take the opening set 6-2 in dominant style.
It was a more competitive affair in the second, but the world number 140 came through 6-4 against a player six places higher than her in the world rankings.
Konta will now face French 12th seed Kristina Mladenovic for a place in the third round of the competition.
