Andy Murray: 'Only pressure is from myself'

Andy Murray claims that he will put a lot of pressure on himself to win Wimbledon again this year.

Andy Murray has claimed that he will put a lot of pressure on himself to defend his Wimbledon title.

Murray became the first British man to win the tournament in 77 years last summer when he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

The 27-year-old, who recently appointed Amelie Mauresmo as his new coach, admits that he will not go easy on himself this time around in order to retain his Wimbledon crown.

"Pressure from the press and media or public perspective? I don't think so," he told Sky Sports News. "But from my own expectations, I will definitely put a lot of pressure on myself to perform well.

"When you're defending a title, you want to do it properly and play good tennis and if you can't do it you want to lose to a great performance by your opponent so I'll put a lot of pressure on myself to perform well and hopefully I can have a good tournament."

Murray will warm up for Wimbledon this week by defending his title at the Aegon Championships.
