Silvio Berlusconi: 'Clarence Seedorf must start well'

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi says that it is important Clarence Seedorf starts his coaching spell at San Siro with a bang.

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has warned newly-appointed coach Clarence Seedorf that his tenure at San Siro must get off to a good start against Hellas Verona tonight.

Seedorf, who spent 10 years at Milan as a player, was named as Massimiliano Allegri's successor at the Rossoneri earlier this week after the Italian was dismissed for the club's dismal domestic campaign thus far.

The Italian giants sit 12th in the Serie A table, and Berlusconi believes that the Dutchman must kick-start his coaching career with a bang to appease the "disappointed" supporters.

"It is important that this new Milan starts well," the former Italian Prime Minister told reporters. "It is important because there are so many disappointed fans all over Italy."

This evening's clash at the Giuseppe Meazza is scheduled to kick off at 7.45pm.
