Mikel Arteta 'identifies three signings for Arsenal'

Newly-appointed Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to strengthen in various positions during the January transfer window.

Mikel Arteta has reportedly set his sights on making three defensive signings during the January window.

Having been appointed as the successor to Unai Emery, Arteta must now try to move the Gunners up the Premier League standings as soon as possible.

Despite major additions having been made during the summer, the North London outfit are expected to be active in the transfer market at the start of 2020.

According to France Football, Arteta wishes to bring in two centre-backs and a defensive-minded midfielder before the end of next month.

While Arsenal are not short of options in either area, Arsenal have struggled for any kind of consistency in the middle of the pitch.

Arsenal would likely have to allow players to leave in order to add fresh faces to their squad.
