A report claims that Antonio Conte's Chelsea job is safe for the time being, as owner Roman Abramovich is not actively seeking any potential successors.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly yet to truly consider sacking boss Antonio Conte and is not actively seeking any potential successors.

Conte's future at Stamford Bridge appears to be in serious doubt following a poor run of form that has seen the Blues win just three of 10 games in 2018 - one of those being on penalties against Norwich City in an FA Cup replay.

Reports emerged following the champions' 4-1 loss to Watford on Monday night suggesting that the former Juventus and Italy boss could be on his way out by the end of the month, with Luis Enrique being lined up to take charge.

According to The Telegraph, however, that is not the case as Abramovich is willing to stick by the Italian for the time being in the hope of a turnaround in form.

Abramovich will also refuse to allow player power to decide Conte's fate, it is claimed, having seen Luiz Felipe Scolari, Andre Villas-Boas and Jose Mourinho all depart in the past following dressing-room rows.
