Manchester City and Liverpool are reportedly in the race for Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci, who is also wanted by AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus.

Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a productive term for the Italian side in Serie A, making 30 appearances, finding the net once and providing one assist.

Arne Slot's Reds on the other hand endured a less productive weekend, losing to Fulham at Craven Cottage in what was the Reds' maiden away defeat of the league term.

Nevertheless, Liverpool remain at the very summit of the Premier League standings, with the Merseyside side able to lift their 20th English crown in the coming weeks.

After being knocked off the continental stage by Paris Saint-Germain last month, the Reds will watch the Champions League quarter-finals from home this week.

Liverpool, Man City want Ricci?

According to CaughtOffside, there are a pair of Premier League powerhouses who are keen on securing the services of Torino man Ricci in the near future.

The report claims that both Liverpool and Manchester City are in the race for the highly-rated 23-year-old, who could leave Serie A this summer.

It is understood that there is interest from elsewhere in the Premier League for Ricci, with lowly Tottenham Hotspur also admirers of the player.

As well as fondness from the British Isles, it is believed that all of Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus are planning summer swoops for the midfielder.

Torino have supposedly slapped a £34m price-tag on the head of Ricci, who will be allowed to leave his current club should a potential suitor fork out the specified amount.

Who needs Ricci the most?

After signing Nico Gonzalez during the January transfer window, it is fair to say that Manchester City satisfied their need for new midfield options slightly.

The Citizens are also set to welcome back influential enforcer Rodri at the start of next term, further strengthening their options in the engine room.

Meanwhile, Liverpool missed out on the capture of their first-choice midfield target during the summer, meaning that the Reds are arguably in greater need of reinforcements.
