Ciro Immobile: 'I can replace Carlos Bacca'

On-loan Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile vows to fill Carlos Bacca's boots at Spanish club Sevilla.

Italian forward Ciro Immobile is confident that he will be able to fill Carlos Bacca's boots at Sevilla.

Immobile arrived at the Estadio Ramon earlier this month on a season-long loan as a direct replacement for Bacca, who left for AC Milan.

Bacca scored 49 goals during his two seasons with Sevilla, but Immobile believes that he can fill the void left by the Colombian.

"I think [I'll adapt]. Carlos Bacca and I have similar characteristics. We're not the same, but similar," Immobile told Marca.

"I hope to score as many goals as him. I always look for the back of the net, work for the team and I'm quick. Those are my qualities.

"When a player has scored so many goals for a team, he's difficult to replace, but he's left for Milan after two good years here and we're the ones who are at Sevilla to play and win games."

Immobile scored 10 times in 34 games for Borussia Dortmund last season.
