AC Milan move ahead of Arsenal and Napoli in the race for RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, according to a report.

AC Milan are reportedly confident of beating the likes of Arsenal and Napoli to the signature of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

Having amassed an impressive return of 11 goals and 17 assists across all competitions for the Austrian outfit this term, Szoboszlai is naturally being linked with a move to several top European sides.

Arsenal and Napoli have both been touted as potential destinations ahead of next season, but Milan are reportedly desperate to strike a deal for the Hungary international.

According to Calciomercato, prospective AC Milan manager Ralf Rangnick - currently head of sport and development at Red Bull GmbH - watched Szoboszlai live upon the resumption of the Austrian top flight.

The report also claims that the two parties may have held discussions in the locker room over a potential move, and Milan have identified Szoboszlai as a priority target heading into the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old's current deal with Salzburg is set to run until 2022, and Szoboszlai is understood to possess a €25m (£22.5m) release clause in his contract with the Austrian outfit.
