Report: Monaco offer Arsene Wenger '£28m contract'

Arsenal reportedly prepare themselves for a lucrative approach from Monaco to take Arsene Wenger back to Ligue 1 on a three-year contract worth £28m.

Monaco have offered Arsene Wenger a contract worth £28m to call time on his Arsenal career and return to France, reports suggest.

Wenger enjoyed a successful spell at the helm with Monaco before moving to England, and the Ligue 1 outfit have always harboured ambitions of bringing him back to take charge once more, according to The Metro.

The Gunners boss is thought to have been promised a three-year deal worth just over £9.3m a season, meaning that the Frenchman would make £28m if he honoured the three-year contract on offer.

However, he has always maintained that he would not leave Arsenal mid-contract to join another club.
