Mathieu Flamini unfazed by France snub

Mathieu Flamini says that he is not bothered by his lack of involvement in the French national team and is fully focused on playing for Arsenal this season.

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has insisted that he is not bothered by the fact that he has been snubbed by France for the World Cup qualifiers.

The 29-year-old, who rejoined the Gunners as a free agent this summer, has only managed to pick up three caps for Les Bleus during his career.

"I am very happy," Flamini told reporters. "Frustrated with [just] three selections? No.

"I played in very large clubs and I evolved in three major championships. At one point, I asked myself. Today, this is no longer the case. I support the France team, I look at their matches, but my club remains my priority.

"It concerns people who are around me, fans, journalists. But me, it does not disturb me. I matured. I am very happy. I just want to enjoy, look forward, not backwards. I'm not bitter, but then not at all."

France take on Belarus in Group I on Tuesday night.
