Aston Villa are reportedly keen on signing Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone in January.
The 28-year-old has struggled for first-team action this season, having made just two Premier League appearances under David Moyes.
Mannone has dropped down the pecking order behind Jordan Pickford, which has thrown his long-term future at the Stadium of Light into doubt.
According to Sky Sport Italia presenter Gianluca Di Marzio, Villa will switch their attention to Mannone if their keeper Pierluigi Gollini leaves the club, despite only joining Sunderland in the summer.
Mannone may be open to the move as his representatives are believed to be unhappy with the treatment that the keeper has received since he returned from injury.
The report adds that Mannone would be sold rather than offloaded on loan.
