Andres Iniesta believes that his Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi is on course for a fifth Ballon d'Or award if he continues his level of performance.
Messi was awarded the title for a fourth time in a row last night, becoming the first player to win more than three.
Iniesta, who finished third after an impressive year for club and country, believes that there is more to come.
"I dedicate it to Barca [and] the work we do," Iniesta told Esport3. "If he continues then Leo will get a fifth [Ballon d'Or].
"I congratulate Leo again for his fourth golden boot, which makes it unique. It is not a matter of giving it to others, it is a matter of recognising the best there is - that is what happened.
"In this game you have to enjoy your time playing at the top. And hopefully, I can do that for a long time and win more trophies."
Cristiano Ronaldo made up the top three, finishing in second place.
