Bayern Munich's Daniel van Buyten is "delighted" to have beaten Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern Munich centre-back Daniel van Buyten has admitted that he is "delighted" to have finally beaten Borussia Dortmund after Bayern failed to win in six previous games against the reigning Bundesliga champions.

Bayern beat Dortmund 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the German cup courtesy of an Arjen Robben goal, and Van Buyten is pleased that his teammates "gave 100%".

"It was very difficult to beat Dortmund," Bundesliga.de quotes Van Buyten as saying. "They are a very strong team, not only in the Bundesliga, but also on a European level.

"They have a good style, have top players and can play good football. We gave 100% - otherwise you can not win against Dortmund.

"We have now progressed in the cup and are delighted that we have won, even if we could have done it by more than 1-0."

Van Buyten has made eight appearances this season for Bayern.
