Birmingham City's Lee Clark: "We deserved better"

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark believes that his side deserved better following their 1-0 defeat to Watford.

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark believes that his side deserved better after their 1-0 home defeat to Watford in the Championship on Saturday.

A first-half goal from Troy Deeney secured all three points for the visitors, while Gianfranco Zola's men held on to the win despite heavy pressure from City.

"We played with intensity, passion, drive, energy and desire," he told reporters. "Without a doubt we deserved something from the game.

"I think [Watford] were hanging on at the end. Our start to the game was good, but we got undone with a bit of quality from Watford.

"All in all I'm pleased with what the players gave me out there today."

City have a League Cup clash against Plymouth on Tuesday, ahead of their trip to Yeovil Town next weekend.
