Marinus Dijkhuizen: 'Patience paid off for Brentford'

Head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen admits that Brentford "had to be patient" during their 4-2 Championship victory over Bristol City.

Marinus Dijkhuizen believes that patience was the key during Brentford's 4-2 win over Bristol City on Saturday.

The Bees came from behind twice before taking the lead on the hour mark after City midfielder Luke Freeman was sent off.

"It was an unbelievable first half," Dijkhuizen told reporters. "A lot happened, goals, yellow cards, red cards. It was enjoyable to watch. At the break it was already 2-2 and they had one man down, it was an incredible game.

"We had to be patient. It was a very good second half; we got two good goals. We have good strikers, I like them both. Andre [Gray] was fantastic again today."

The win moved Brentford into third spot in the Championship table.
