Jeffrey Monakana recalled by Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton & Hove Albion recall midfielder Jeffrey Monakana from his loan spell with Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

Brighton & Hove Albion have recalled midfielder Jeffrey Monakana from his loan spell with Aberdeen.

The 21-year-old joined the Scottish outfit on a temporary deal at the start of the season.

The former Arsenal trainee made 10 appearances for Aberdeen during his time at Pittodrie Stadium.

"Having spoken to the chief executive at Brighton they have taken the decision to recall Jeff in order to assess his situation further," manager Derek McInnes told the club's official website.

"The possibility of him going out on loan again hasn't been ruled out so there may be an option for him to rejoin us at the end of the month."

Monakana moved to Brighton in January 2014 after starting his professional career with Preston North End.
