Burnley kept alive their faint hopes of reaching the playoffs with a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion this afternoon.
Charlie Austin's 23rd-minute goal was enough to see off the Seagulls at Turf Moor, delivering a blow to their playoff aspirations in the process.
Austin reacted quickest when his initial shot had been saved by Peter Brezovan and he slammed home from close range.
Burnley have keeper Lee Grant to thank for keeping them level after he saved well to deny Craig Mackail-Smith late on.
The Clarets are now seven points behind Brighton, who currently occupy the last promotion spot.
