Neil Warnock: 'I have always got on with Cardiff City fans'

New Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock says that he already has a good relationship with the club's supporters.

New Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has claimed that he already has a good relationship with the club's supporters.

The 67-year-old was appointed by the Championship club on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after Paul Trollope was sacked.

Warnock, who left Rotherham United earlier this year, is targeting promotion with the Welsh outfit.

"I've always liked the club, I've always got on well with the fans, which is unusual for me!" Warnock told reporters. "They've always been really respectful to me. They're my kind of supporters, and I think they'll enjoy my kind of football, get behind us and create that atmosphere that I love to work in.

"There are decent players at the club, and I think there are one or two good young lads. The attitude is spot on, and I enjoyed the session that we had yesterday. When you don't win many games, you're bound to be low on confidence, so we're trying to instill confidence, and get into a winning habit as quickly as possible."

Cardiff are currently second from bottom in the Championship table after taking eight points from 11 games.
