Daniel Agger believes that Liverpool didn't start the FA Cup final well enough to clinch victory over Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger believes that his side failed to "turn up" for the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Merseyside club succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Blues at Wembley, despite trying to launch a comeback in the final 30 minutes of the clash.

"It is so difficult to talk about now," the Daily Star quotes Agger as saying. "I really don't know why we played as we did for the first 60 minutes. But we didn't turn up and you cannot afford to do that in a final.

"We know these opportunities don't come along that often and that is why you have to take them when they do. We certainly didn't do that. Will it haunt us? Yes."

The Reds are currently ninth in the Premier League table with two games left to play.
