Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho suggests racism doesn't exist in football management

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho suggests that racism doesn't exist in football amid calls for American Football's 'Rooney Rule' to be introduced in the English game.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that there are no issues of racism in football with regards to management.

Calls have been made for England to introduce the 'Rooney Rule', which is a system created in American Football which requires at least one black or ethnic minority to be interviewed for every vacancy.

Keith Curle and Chris Powell are the only black managers in 92 Premier League and Football League clubs.

"Football is not so stupid to close doors to people," Mourinho said in today's press conference. "If you are good, you get the job. If you are top, you are top."

Despite the lack of black managers in England, around 25% of players are black or ethnic minority.
