Leon Osman hails Everton style

Leon Osman believes that the current Everton team are a more attractive side than the one that last qualified for the Champions League in the 2004-05 campaign.

Leon Osman has claimed that the current Everton side are playing better football than the one that last qualified for the Champions League.

Roberto Martinez's side moved into fourth place ahead of Arsenal in the table on Saturday with a 1-0 victory at Sunderland.

Osman, who was also part of the Everton team that qualified for the Champions League in the 2004-05 season, believes that the Toffees are a more attractive side under Martinez.

"Tony Hibbert and I are the only survivors from when we last finished fourth," Clubcall.com quotes him as saying.

"I think we surprised a lot of people back then with a counter-attacking approach, but this time, we are pleasing on the eye. Football-wise, you have to say this is the better side.

"We are winning games and playing some really good stuff."

Everton host Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening.
