France coach Didier Deschamps 'proud' of Nigeria scalp

France coach Didier Deschamps lavishes praise on his players following their World Cup victory over Nigeria.

France manager Didier Deschamps has declared that he is proud of his team's performance during their 2-0 victory over Nigeria in the World Cup.

Les Bleus reached the last eight of the competition courtesy of a Paul Pogba strike and a Joseph Yobo own goal, and Deschamps has backed his team to go further.

"I am very proud of everything we did from the start," Deschamps told reporters.

"There was tension out there. They are a very strong side and there were a lot of duels. But we're through. We're in the quarter finals and we'll do everything we can to go a stage further."

France will play either Germany or Algeria in the quarter-finals.
