Fulham captain Brede Hangeland has revealed that Felix Magath is a "tough coach" who has a "strict" style of management.
The German arrived at Craven Cottage in February with the reputation of being a disciplinarian.
He won his first game in charge on Saturday as Fulham beat Newcastle United 1-0 to boost their chances of Premier League survival.
Hangeland has now admitted that Magath's coaching methods on the training pitch are rigourous.
"He is a tough coach, fairly strict," the defender is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "It is quite different to what you are used to in an English club. If it works, it's great.
"We train substantially tougher, we train more and have less free time. It's more German discipline."
Fulham continue their fight for survival this Saturday with a trip to Manchester City.
