National League outfit Leyton Orient have appointed former Gillingham and Northampton Town manager Justin Edinburgh as their new manager.
The 47-year-old has agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Brisbane Road to replace Steve Davis, who was sacked earlier in November.
Edinburgh, who previously guided Newport County out of England's fifth tier, had been out of work since leaving Northampton in August after seven months in charge.
Orient's director of football Martin Ling told the official club website: "We built up a criteria for a head coach and Justin ticked all of the boxes.
"He has experience in the National League, which I feel is of huge importance, but also enjoyed success in this division by achieving promotion with Newport. We feel we have got the right man."
Orient sit 20th in the table in their first season out of the Football League for 112 years, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
