Manchester City are reportedly keeping a close eye on the development of Real Sociedad attacker Mikel Oyarzabal.
The 24-year-old caught the eye with his displays in La Liga last term, chalking up 11 goals and eight assists from 33 appearances in the top flight.
Oyarzabal's deal with Sociedad is not due to expire until the summer of 2024, but his prolific form has not gone unnoticed by top clubs elsewhere.
According to TEAMtalk, Man City boss Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of the Spain international, who was initially touted as a possible replacement for Leroy Sane following his exit to Bayern Munich.
The report adds that Oyarzabal's versatility makes him an attractive option for Guardiola, but the Premier League champions would need to fork out the entirety of his £70m release clause in order to secure his signature.
Oyarzabal already boasts four goals from five La Liga games in the 2021-22 season and chalked up three goals and two assists from six matches at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
