Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says that he is open to staying in charge of the club for the next 15 years.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is open to staying at Manchester United for the next 15 years, but understands that the "pressure" on managers would make it difficult.

The Portuguese coach, who has never stayed at a club longer than four years, took charge of the Red Devils last summer.

In his first season, Mourinho guided the North-West outfit to EFL Cup glory and Europa League triumph, which resulted in qualification for the Champions League.

United failed to launch a serious challenge for the Premier League title, though, as they finished sixth in the table.

"I am ready for this," Mourinho told ESPN. "I am ready for the next 15, I would say. Here? Yes, why not? I have to admit that it is very difficult because of the pressure around our jobs, everybody putting pressure on managers and things that people say - that we have to win - but in reality only one can win and every year it is getting more difficult.

"But what I try to do in the club is show that my work goes further than the football results, that it goes to areas that people don't think of as a manager's job. In my vision, my job is much more than what I do on the pitch and the results that my team gets at the weekend."

United have recruited two new players so far this summer, in the form of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku.
