Roma could sign Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly before the end of the January transfer window, according to a report.

Roma are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly before the January transfer window closes for business.

The 27-year-old has only made seven appearances for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign and has been linked with a move away from the club over the last few weeks.

AC Milan allegedly remain firmly in the picture for the Ivory Coast international, but according to Foot Mercato, there is also genuine interest from Roma.

The report claims that the Italian club's head coach Jose Mourinho remains a huge admirer of Bailly, who arrived at Man United when the Portuguese was in charge.

The defender has only made four Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season, with Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof all ahead of him in the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Bailly only signed a new deal with the 20-time English champions last April, with his current terms at the club due to run until June 2024, with the option of a further year.
