Manager Rafael Benitez says that Newcastle United must keep working to reach at least 38 points in the Premier League table as soon as possible.

Manager Rafael Benitez has called on Newcastle United to keep on working as the club attempt to remain in the Premier League.

Last week's 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town resulted in Newcastle moving seven points adrift of safety in the top-flight standings.

The Magpies face a tough end to the season, but Benitez is keen to keep his players in the present ahead of the game with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The 57-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "We don't need to talk about anything, just Leicester and how we can get to 38 points if we can. We have to carry on trying to get points in the game against Arsenal.

"I think that I have to do now the opposite of what some people think, that we don't have complacency and that everyone concentrates because we are closer, but it's not yet done.

"We have to keep working, winning and the target still is 40 points so we have to carry on."

Newcastle head into the match having recorded 10 points from their last five games in the Premier League.
