Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has stated that the support of owner Mike Ashley has been key to his side's revival.
Pardew looked to be on the brink of losing his job a few weeks ago following a poor start to the season, but the Magpies have won their last four league matches to move up to eighth in the Premier League.
Newcastle's fourth victory in that run came on Sunday as they beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at The Hawthorns.
When asked about Ashley, Pardew told the Evening Express: "Everyone was pulling at him when we weren't winning and he stuck with me and was very supportive. You have to have that as a manager. It bought me just enough time.
"I particularly want to thank my staff. You need them to be loyal, especially when you are under fire. They trusted me and I feel the rewards and so do they."
Newcastle return to action against Queens Park Rangers following the international break.
