Alex Neil unhappy with Norwich City display

Norwich City manager Alex Neil expresses his disappointment at the way in which his side lost 2-0 to Watford.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has said that he is unhappy with the manner in which his side conceded defeat to Watford and admitted that his side did not do enought to warrant a positive result.

Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo scored as the Canaries lost 2-0 to their fellow promoted side at Vicarage Road to leave Neil's side just two points outside the relegation zone.

Neil bemoaned his side's inability to create chances and expressed his disappointment with the way his team surrendered to the home side.

"The conditions did not make for a great game and they dealt with them better," he told BBC Sport. "There was not anything between the teams. At this level the first goal is absolutely crucial. To give it away in the manner we did, it did not do us any favours.

"To lose 2-0 is extremely disappointing. As the game opened up we left more space at the back but that is the price you pay when you concede the first goal. Robbie Brady had a couple of good chances, there was a bad touch and a bad finish. There were wee bits and bobs throughout the game, but I do not think that we did enough."

Neil's side host Everton in the lunchtime kickoff next Saturday.
