Stuart Pearce: "Draw was fair result"

Stuart Pearce admits that Nottingham Forest's 1-1 draw against Derby County was "a fair result" after seeing his side pegged back at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce has insisted that his side will 'learn lessons and improve' from their 1-1 draw against Derby County this afternoon.

Britt Assombalonga fired the Reds ahead with a little under 20 minutes remaining at the City Ground, only for Ryan Shotton to level up the East Midlands derby shortly after.

"It was very scrappy - a typical derby game," Pearce told the club's official website. "There was a lack of quality from both sides and when we got our noses in front I was hoping we would go on to secure the three points.

"Derby will probably come away from this happier than we are but I think, over the 90 minutes, a draw was a fair result. We'll learn our lessons and, once again, I think we can improve on that performance."

Forest remain at the top of the Championship table following the draw, one point ahead of Norwich City.
