Emmanuel Adebayor: 'Players confused by Mauricio Pochettino'

Emmanuel Adebayor claims that the Spurs squad is struggling to adapt to new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has claimed that the squad is struggling to understand what manager Mauricio Pochettino is asking of them.

Spurs slumped to a fifth defeat of the season on Sunday as they were beaten 2-1 by Stoke City at White Hart Lane.

Adebayor is confident that Pochettino will turn things around, but the forward admits that he and his teammates are finding it difficult to understand the Argentine's coaching methods.

"All managers bring their own philosophies, the way they see football. But this is the fourth manager in three years, so now we just have to stop arguing about the manager," he is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard.

"He's a great manager and a great man and we just have to find a way so that we can try to understand what he wants to tell us and how he wants us to play and put that on the pitch. If every player could do what the manager wants then we would win the Champions League. But we are not getting the message. He is a good manager, a good man — we just have to get what he's telling us.

"We have to get used to him. He is the new manager and it is tough. Tactically, he is working hard, he is trying to make us understand what the opponents will try to do and what we have to do to."

Tottenham have the chance to get back to winning ways on November 23 when they travel to Hull City in the Premier League.
