Mauricio Pochettino: 'Burnley will be tough'

Mauricio Pochettino tells his Spurs players to be ready for a "tough" game at struggling Burnley.

Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino has warned his players to expect a "tough" game away to struggling Burnley.

Spurs make the trip to Turf Moor later today looking to boost their hopes of a top-four finish with a fourth win in five matches.

However, Pochettino believes that Burnley will provide tough opposition as they scrap away at the other end of the table.

"I think that all Premier League games are difficult, but Burnley are playing to survive in the Premier League and we expect a tough game," the Argentine told the club's official website.

"We played them in the FA Cup and it was a tough tie. They are a very good team, a strong team and they were well organised on the pitch when we played them before.

"It's a good challenge for us – we need to win the game and get the three points, which is important for us if we're going to stay higher up the league table. We have respect for Burnley, but we need to get the three points and we need to try to win the game."

Spurs are currently in seventh place in the standings, seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.
