Goals from Chris Porter and Cameron Gayle see Shrewsbury Town defeat Tranmere Rovers 2-0 away from home.

Shrewsbury Town have registered a 2-0 victory over high-flying Tranmere Rovers away from home in League One.

The home side played almost the entire 90 minutes with 10 men after Liam Palmer was sent off for his challenge on Joe Jacobson in the sixth minute.

Four minutes later Town surged ahead when Chris Porter latched onto Matthew Richards's pass and scored from inside the Rovers penalty box.

The visitors ascertained the points midway through the second half when Cameron Gayle headed home from close range.
