Rafael Nadal thrashes Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2 6-3 6-1 to reach the French Open semi-finals.

Rafael Nadal has stormed into the semi-finals of the French Open with a resounding straight-sets win over Stanislas Wawrinka.

The defending champion overcame the Swiss world number 10 6-2 in the opening set before taking the second 6-3 in ruthless fashion.

Wawrinka was then hammered in the third as Nadal closed out the match 6-1 with two hours on the clock.

The Spaniard, who is looking to win an eighth title at Roland Garros, will meet either world number one Novak Djokovic or Tommy Haas in the semis.
