Maria Sharapova still has yet to drop a set in this year's Indian Wells, after the Russian dispatched Roberta Vinci with ease.

The second seed started sloppily and was broken twice, as the first four games of the opening set went against serve.

The Australian Open finalist then took the next four games, only losing five points, to take the first set.

Sharapova continued her blitz by winning the first five games of the second set.

Her Italian opponent kept fighting and avoided a bagel set by holding on to her serve in game six, but she was helpless to stop Sharapova going on to claim a 6-2 6-1 victory.
