Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang admits to a "problem" with Mikel Arteta following his acrimonious exit from Arsenal on deadline day.

Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has lifted the lid on his acrimonious exit from Arsenal, claiming that there was a "problem" with Mikel Arteta.

The Gabon international was stripped of the Gunners captaincy for multiple disciplinary breaches in December and was then ostracized from the group by Arteta.

Aubameyang ultimately completed a deadline day transfer to Barcelona after agreeing to terminate his Arsenal deal, and the 32-year-old has now opened up on his departure and friction with Arteta.

Speaking during his first press conference as a Barcelona player, Aubameyang said: "My last few months at Arsenal were complicated, that's football sometimes. Those were difficult months. This is football. I've never wanted to do anything wrong, it's the past & I want to think about the present.

"For my part, I never wanted to do anything wrong. My problem was only with Arteta. I can't say much more. It was just him and he made that decision. He wasn't happy, I can't tell you more. He wasn't very happy, I was very calm."

Aubameyang left Arsenal after scoring 92 goals and setting up 21 more in 163 games across all competitions, and the Gunners will supposedly have to pay the striker £7m after terminating his £350k-a-week deal, which still had a year and a half left to run.
