Gabriel Agbonlahor targets England recall

Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor hopes that his improved form this season will earn him a return to the England squad.

Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor hopes that his improved form this season will lead to a recall to the England squad.

The 27-year-old has scored two goals in four Premier League appearances so far this term, including the winner at Liverpool on Saturday.

After seeing Villa teammate Fabian Delph make his first two appearances for the Three Lions earlier this month, Agbonlahor has said that he is eager to test himself at international level again.

"It's always been an ambition," Clubcall.com quotes him as saying.

"But I'm going to concentrate on Aston Villa and give 100 per cent for them and if England come knocking I'm available."

Agbonlahor won the last of his three England caps in 2009.
