Granada overcome Rayo Vallecano

Granada move out of the La Liga relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.

A goal in either half allowed Granada to record a 2-0 victory from their home encounter with Rayo Vallecano this afternoon.

The hosts dominated the match from the first whistle and they eventually broke the deadlock with 26 minutes played.

Madrid-based Vallecano failed to clear the lines and the ball found its way into the net via visiting defender Jordi Almat.

Vallecano had a greater attacking threat after the restart, but any chance they had of claiming a share of the spoils were ended when Recio converted from close range with 10 minutes remaining.

The win has moved Granada out of the relegation zone.
