Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Liverpool will make the short trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United looking to register their ninth successive Premier League win of the season.

The 100% record for the Merseyside giants, maintained with a last-gasp victory over Leicester City, has enabled them to open up an eight-point advantage over champions Manchester City.

However, Jurgen Klopp has a couple of important decisions to make regarding key players ahead of squaring off against the club's fierce rivals on Sunday afternoon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news for the meeting with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's outfit.

Alisson

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: October 20 (Man United)

Alisson has been absent from the squad since suffering a calf injury on the opening day of the season. However, having stepped up his rehabilitation in recent weeks, the Brazilian stopper could return to the squad for this weekend's contest.

Mohamed Salah

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: October 20 (vs. Man United)

Salah suffered an ankle injury during the closing stages of the meeting with Leicester, which subsequently ruled him out of international action. However, it was revealed at the time that the issue was not as bad as first feared, suggesting that the winger should be fine for the clash at Old Trafford.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Shaqiri has recently been carrying a calf injury, and it was enough to see the winger ruled out of international action with Switzerland. While the playmaker may be ready to return to the squad, he is not in contention to start against United.

Nathaniel Clyne

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Having sustained a serious knee injury during pre-season, Liverpool do not expect Clyne to be back in contention during the early months of 2020.
