Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic hints that he is prepared to leave Camp Nou, amid speculation about a potential move to the Premier League or Serie A.

Ivan Rakitic has acknowledged that he is prepared to leave Barcelona in the future.

With just over a year remaining on his contract, Rakitic has been frequently linked with a move to another high-profile European club during the next transfer window.

While the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan have all been credited with an interest, it has also been suggested that the Croatia international may see out the rest of his deal.

However, speaking to Spanish radio stations on Monday night, the 32-year-old has revealed that he is open to taking on a new challenge away from Camp Nou.

Rakitic said: "When parties sign a contract it is with the idea of fulfilling it. Also with the idea that I want to play, but I am calm about it. I would have liked that at some point someone from the club had come out to say that Rakitic was staying to end the rumours.

"[President Josep Maria] Bartomeu has not told me anything. Perhaps today he is listening to us and tomorrow he is going to call me. I have never closed the doors to making a big change."

Rakitic also said that he and his family intend to live in Seville in the future, throwing up the possibility of a return to his former club.
